What's On Your Mind?
We have thousands of thoughts a day… around 50,000 of them, according to the National Science Foundation... most of which are negative, unimportant or pure fantasy. We are constantly drifting away from the present moment into the past or the future. We jump to conclusions, make assumptions, see things as all-or-nothing, blame others or judge ourselves more harshly than we would ever judge someone else. These self-defeating thoughts are so engrained in us, they feel “real.” They contribute to feelings of anxiety, fear, anger, shame, incompetence, worthlessness, disconnection and burn-out. They get in our way and keep us from having the kinds of careers, relationships and lives we've always wanted.
Using a cognitive-behavioral approach to therapy (CBT), I provide my clients with a safe, supportive place to explore old, ineffective patterns and replace them with new, more effective ones; strengthen coping, communication and decision-making skills; deepen relationships; build self-esteem; and create lasting change.
Life is stressful… but it can also be meaningful, rich and full of possibility. I’m here to help.
